Martinhal Beach Resort and Hotel brings a 5 star luxury resort to the Western Algarve for the first time and has created a place where couples and families with children of all ages can relax with a sense of style. Situated in a stunning position overlooking Martinhal Beach and set within a protected national park, the resort is located in Sagres on the unspoiled Western Algarve – just over one hour from Faro International Airport.
The village houses comprise Ocean houses with breath taking views over the sea and Bay houses with uninterrupted views of the national park to the east and the ocean to the south. In the heart of the resort the Garden Houses are arranged around a natural garden, with a children's freeform 'Oasis' pool. Completing the development are 10 individual Pinewood houses which are set apart in their own close, each with their own small private heated swimming pool.
Martinhal Village Bay houses are located on the eastern margin of the resort, these are the most spacious and quietest houses enjoying tranquil views over the Natural Reserve and the ocean. The houses have been designed upside down, with living areas on the first floor to make the most of the unspoiled location. Furthermore, they have an east-west orientation and allow the best views from both sides – with beautiful sunrises and spectacular sunsets. 16 Grand Deluxe (2 bedrooms), 12 Master Deluxe (3 bedrooms). The grand deluxe houses have a maximum capacity of 4 people and those with bunk beds have a maximum capacity of 2 adults + 3 children up to 16 years old. The master deluxe houses have a maximum capacity of 6 people.
Description of Grand Deluxe and Master Deluxe: On ground floor, one double bedroom with en suite shower room; one bedroom with twin beds; 1 bathroom with tub and shower over, hairdryer (1 per house) and safe. Master Deluxe houses have an additional twin bedroom. On first floor - living room, kitchen and balcony, plus outside furniture including sofa and fat boy. Beds: 180 X 200 (twin beds adaptable to double bed).
Description of Grand Deluxe plus bunk beds: On ground floor, one bedroom en suite with double bed (parents room) and other bedroom with a single bed and double bunk beds (children's room). 1 bathroom with tub, 1 bathroom with shower (en-suite room), hairdryer (1 per house) and safe. On first floor - living room, kitchen and balcony, plus outside furniture including sofa and fat boy.
Decoration: British furniture and interiors designer Michael Sodeau has created an exclusive range of furniture that is modern, attractive and functional. A natural, organic quality prevails with the use of materials like stone, timber and cork.
Facilities: Voya amenities (75ml bath gel+shampoo+body milk+soap), 32” satellite television with multi-channel selection and video on demand, pay TV, wireless internet access (additional fee), a MP3 docking station and telephone. Modern conveniences include designer kitchen, washing and dryer machine, ironing board and iron, laundry rack, fridge, coffee machine and kitchen utilities. Village Houses benefit from a daily maid service and guests can if they wish pre-order meals from our home delivery service.

The rates are per house and exclude breakfast. Minimum 2 night stay, excluding July and August when the minimum stay is 7 nights.
The Meal supplement includes lunch or dinner (3 course menu, drinks not included); Half board Includes per day, the buffet breakfast and lunch or dinner (3 course menu, drinks not included) 50% discount for children from 09 to 12 years, if adults acquire the supplement. Half Board and Meal Supplement are not valid for Christmas and New Year is not valid for Christmas and New Years and/or other special events. Half board must be booked for the full stay and for all the reservation guests. Meal Supplement can be acquired daily and individually. Children up to 08 years: Meals free of charge subject to the adults acquiring the supplement.
Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel in total features four large and heated swimming pools and three toddler pools set around the grounds of the Resort, two high-grade artificial grass tennis courts, two glass-sided PADEL courts and a multipurpose court. Around the Village Square, Martinhal has a wide variety of facilities on offer including: A new family bar; children’s playground; Raposinhos, a full staffed children’s crèche; Blue Room, for older children with PlayStation, Wii’s and internet; swimming pool; gym and newly enlarged supermarket where you can buy wines and beers, freshly prepared food and a tempting range of holiday shopping.
Children between 2 and 3 years old can be looked after at Raposinhos, located on the Village Square. “Raposinho” means “little fox” and children here are encouraged to be the same – active and inquisitive. The club has lots of toys, games and puzzles to keep minds occupied.
The Nursery caters for children from 6 to 12 months and the Créche caters for children from 13 to 23 months. During the school holidays, the 4 to 6 year olds are catered for in the Fox Club, which has a program with indoor and outdoor supervised activities that will spark the interest of this age group. All Clubs are centrally located at the Village Square and are run by an experienced and enthusiastic team who will ensure your child has a holiday to remember at Martinhal.
Also the older kids will find their spot at Martinhal. During the holiday season, the Explorers and Nature Club run for 7-13 year olds. The Club are the ideal meeting point for your tweens and teens and are running a special activity program with active outdoor activities like beach volley, water polo, padel tennis tryouts and other fun and more relaxed activities like for example a cocktail contest. All activities are accompanied by our fully trained and experienced leisure team. Daily activities are offered from 9h30 until 17h30. The programme includes some free of charge activities. Martinhal cinema, at the Blue Room, will show evening movies to suit this age group.
Baby-sitting facilities exist and there’s a small children’s playground in a sheltered, walled garden. The Crèche and Raposinhos Kids Club will be open all year while Fox Club, Explorers and Adventure Clubs will open only during school holiday periods. Please note that for all Children’s Club there is a limited number of spaces available. To guarantee a space for your child, we recommend to pre-book your sessions. Bookings are accepted on availability. If without reason your child doesn’t attend the pre-booked session a no show fee will be charged. Certain activities may incur an extra charge. During the summer months, Raposinhos also organises outdoor & indoor evening surprises to entertain children while parents enjoy their dinner.
An experienced team of babysitters are on hand in case you require Baby-sitting services. Reservations should be made with at least 24 hours in advance. Please note that we only allow up to 3 children under the age of 6 per babysitter. The cost for this service is €20 per hour for one or two children and €25 for three children from 08h00 until 24h00 and €24 per hour for one or two children and €29 for three children from 24h00 until 08h00.
Hassle free travelling with babies and small children is Martinhal's specialty. Our baby concierge service offers you the opportunity to pre-book baby equipment - from small items like door protectors, thermometers, potties, bottle sterilisers & warmers, to bigger items like safety gates, baby cots, baby baths and even pushchairs. Please note that we also offer a wide variety of lotions, nappies, baby food and other items in the Mercado shop, Mercado, located on the Village Square.
The Blue Room (named after the tube created by a breaking wave that surfers try to ride in) is a self-contained games room located on the Village Square, where teenagers can absorb themselves in the latest video games, or team up and indulge in more traditional pastimes such as table football. There’s also a great selection of board games to choose from. The Blue Room is free to enter and is an unsupervised leisure facility recommended for children aged 8 and older.

Os Gambozinos – The informal bistro-style relaxing café featuring a wood burning pizza oven, ideal for all the family. It offers a full range of eating options from breakfast through to a late supper.
As Dunas – The beach restaurant ‘with style’ overlooking the sea. Specialising in fresh fish and seafood, this beachfront eatery is open all day offering everything from coffee and pastries in the morning through to candle-light dining in the evening.
O Terraço – The fine dining restaurant located on the first floor of the Hotel with views overlooking Martinhal Bay. This is a place to get dressed up and enjoy being ‘grown up’. The food will be light but sophisticated, with a full range of Portuguese wines on offer.
Bars - The Beach Club Pool Bar serves Martinhal Beach Club and swimming pool. Guests using the Club 98 Tennis and Sports Club have their own stylish bar. Food and drink available is imaginatively prepared. A popular meeting point for families and friends; the Village Square Juice Bar is lively and animated and overlooks the resort’s main pool area. The low-key ambience is carried through to an adjoining lounge and cocktail bar at O Terraço. Bar service is also available at As Dunas. The MBAR is a surf bar in the Village Square, which now provides a continental breakfast option.
Indulging at the Finisterra Spa enlivens any stay at Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel. Positioned in its own secluded grounds, the spa adds an extra dimension of health and vitality to the guest experience. It promotes a profound sense of wellbeing through the resort’s special relationship with the environment. Finisterra means “end of the earth” which perfectly describes Martinhal’s location, at the southwestern most tip of Europe. This is a place where land and sea meet and embrace, and this extraordinary union is reflected in the spa menu. There are four swimming pools set around the grounds of Martinhal beach resort and hotel. The beach club pool (see below) is located just above the beach and is sunk into a stylish wooden terrace. Two swimming pools grace the Village Square and are ideal for families. One generously sized pool spans indoors and outdoors. The resort's final swimming pool forms part of Club 98, Martinhal's tennis and sports centre.
Beach Club Pool- Just above the beach, the Beach Club Pool allows guests to enjoy a sheltered spot to sunbathe on the wooden decks, to relax, enjoy the views and be served food and drinks all day long. Below the pool lies the Beach Club Garden where there will be loungers on the small sandy plateau lying just above the margins of Martinhal beach. Here you can hire equipment for windsurfing and other water sports.
Club 98 is located along the Northern boundary of the Resort and backs onto open countryside. It offers a generously sized pool, two high grade artificial grass tennis courts, two glass sided padel tennis courts and a multipurpose sports field. Other activities on offer include: Windsurfing, Paddle Surf, Surf & Bodyboard, Kayak, Diving, Bikes, Climbing, Trekking, Parasailing, Fishing, Boats, Horse riding, Eco–karts, Football, Bird Watching, Balloon Experience, Blokart, Rock Climbing, Golf, Boat Trips, and Dolphin Watching.
Water sports Centre- Martinhal Bay is ideal for water sports and the water is safe for swimming and paddling. Windsurfing, kite surfing, skimming and kayaking equipment from beginners to advanced is available at the Water Sports Centre and the instructors would be very happy to introduce you to the sport.
The Village Square is the heart and soul of Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel. Characterised by a vibrant sense of community, the Square is the resort’s entertainment hub. A central feature is the large, inviting indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Toddlers have a small pool of their own. Nearby is a children’s playground. For keep-fit enthusiasts, a well-equipped gymnasium is housed above the Square. For a more relaxing experience, the sauna and steam rooms are located in the same building. During the summer months, there will be complimentary evening activities such as Circus and PartyLandia on the Village Square.
A commitment to sustainability can be seen throughout the resort as the use of recycled and natural building materials is coupled with a low-rise design to ensure that the buildings blend effortlessly into the landscape. It is not only the architecture of the Martinhal Beach Resort and Hotel that produces an organic style but the natural timber, local cane, stone and recycled cork which is used in the interior furnishings also produces a warm, natural feel.
