This lovely Moorish style villa stands in a tranquil countryside location enclosed by green, tree clad hills near the town of Rio Maior at the southern tip of the Natural Park of Serra d’Aire e Candeeiros, well known for its rugged limestone hills and fabulous underground cave. A beautiful villa, Casa da Senta is situated in the countryside 2 km from Rio Maior between Caldas da Rainha and Santarém.

Stepping into Casa de Senta you’ll be bathed in the relaxing ambience of the serene Moroccan theme throughout the villa. Soft shades blend nicely with rattan furnishings in a spacious, open style living room with views across the pool to the countryside through wide sliding glass doors that access the garden.

Living Areas

Open plan living/dining room and kitchen area. TV with cable channels and patio doors leading to the poolside terrace. Wi-fi internet. The rustic style kitchen has a bench table and a wood burning stove and is equipped with electric hobs, oven/ microwave, fridge with freezer drawer and coffee maker. Washing machine in separate utility.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

There are four delightfully soothing bedrooms all with en-suite facilities and featuring wall rugs, carpets and North African ornaments. Bedroom one is a double room with Moroccan style furnishings and an en suite shower room. Bedrooms two, three and four are twin bedrooms with en suite shower rooms.

Outside Space

Lovely countryside location, very quiet. Room for parking on the forecourt. The private swimming pool measures approximately 13 x 6 metres with steps entry. The shallow end is 0.90 metres in depth and the deep end is 2.20 metres. Charcoal BBQ, seating area and shaded terrace. Lovely countryside views all around across the open fields to the whitewashed cottages of the local farming village and the dramatic backdrop of giant wind turbines atop the hills.

Location

Rio Maior itself is an attractive town where you’ll find restaurants and shops and just outside the town are the famous salt mines dating back to the 12th century,with small wooden houses that today form quaint market day stalls and snack bars. Rio Maior also boasts the superb Golden Eagle golf course, and this is a great base for exploring the historic churches at Batalha and Alcobaça or gorgeous beaches at Foz de Arelho, São Martinho and Nazaré.

Changeover and midweek cleaning service included in the rates. Maximum capacity is 8 persons. Cot available. Pool towels, a safe and a hairdryer are provided for your convenience. Please note the google earth pin location marks the spot where you meet the villa owner to collect the keys, rather than the location of the villa itself.

A tourist tax may be applicable, which is payable on arrival. The amount will vary per adult between €0.50 and €2.50 per day. Depending on the local administrations, the exact amount is often known only late and on occasion can rise between when you make your reservation and the day of your entry at the property.
