The immaculate Pine Cliffs Golf Course lies perched 200 feet above the golden sands and blue water of the Atlantic Ocean. The location of the resort is unique. It extends across 168 acres of naturally beautiful land set above a stunning cliff top, beneath lies an expanse of golden sand beach and the deep blue water of the Atlantic Ocean. The dark red of the sandstone cliffs contrasts sharply with the immaculate green of the golf course above and the sparkling blue ocean below.
This is one of the country’s most original golf courses, built in a pinewood setting with tree lined fairways running parallel along the Atlantic Ocean, giving its guests breathtaking views along the Algarvian coastline. Architect Martin Hawtree’s main concern was to keep the natural surroundings as it was before the course was built.
The jewel of this perfectly kept course is the Par 3 sixth hole. The championship tee, known as the Devil’s Parlour, is built over a ravine that requires a 197 metre carrying shot over the cliffs to a deep but narrow green.
Superbly equipped with the latest technology in teaching systems the Golf Academy is manned by a team of Internationally Qualified PGA Professionals with a combined experience of over 20 years of teaching. The Pine Cliffs Golf Academy team offers a tuition service second to none for all parts of the game. The dedicated short game practice area is specifically designed to aid the beginner, improver or experienced golfers to long lasting enjoyment of the game of golf.
The indoor video swing analysis room is equipped with the V1 swing analysis software which is ideal to analyse your faults and get back on the right track quickly and permanently. For beginners it's the ideal venue to ingrain good habits, or correct the bad ones before it's too late! Hitting from the latest forgiving Astroturf mats is an exceptionally pleasant experience especially when combined with the teaching methods of our PGA golf pro team, placing the emphasis on enjoyment and fun.
Sharpening individual game skills such as putting, bunker play, chip shots and tee shots is one of the Golf Academy's specialties - using expressly patented and enjoyable exercises to hone the player's technique to get more fun and enjoyment from the game.
he Tennis Centre, located on the beautifully landscaped grounds of Pine Cliffs Resort, features five floodlit courts - two clay, three hard courts and one padel court - ideal for day or night time play. The premier tennis courts are managed by Annabel Croft Tennis Academy* along with the resort’s friendly staff who are happy to arrange matches for solo players as well as fun clinics to guests of all ages and skill levels.
Coaching & Tennis Clinics
Players wishing to play tennis at Pine Cliffs Resort can choose from a range of coaching organised and conducted by the qualified team of coaches at the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy*. The academy programme has a wide selection of coaching courses available for both adults and children which cover all aspects of the game and are a great way to improve your tennis.
Each session is delivered using a selection of specifically designed drills and exercises that are challenging but ultimately rewarding and each group is carefully managed, with low numbers of players in each group to maximise your coaching experience. The Tennis Centre is open daily. Our Concierge is pleased to confirm court times, tennis tuition/clinics, and racket and balls are also available for hire.

In colaboration with Estima Sports, there is one more outdoor activity happening. A football academy, with daily classes and different focus every day. At the end of each week, the players will be able to put into practice everything they have learned in a tournament.
